15th September, 2025
Mattel underscores its focus on India by launching bestselling series like Circuit Legends, Euro Speed, Formula 1 Premium, and diorama sets.
This continued commitment has now grown into another year of BIS license renewal with validity up to 25th September 2026!

Mattel’s BIS license was on its way to end soon, with many speculations that the renewal might not happen.
However, with the renewal, Indian collectors can continue collecting the new diecast releases, especially the Hot Wheels 2026 A case, which was recently released in Malaysia.
But as a collector, what does this mean for you?
- You will continue getting all Mattel Hot Wheels global releases, including the next year’s initial case releases (unlike last year, where A to H cases of 2024 never officially released here).
- Mattel will focus on improving availability as it now understands the Indian market more than before.
- India is now a major market for Mattel due to various factors, including increased demand, higher import fees for the US, and other socio-economic including a larger audience.
As a collector, you can also check yourself by going to the BIS official site and searching for Mattel.

To help you understand what licenses are renewed, let’s go through each of the four Mattel BIS license entries.
- Matel Malaysia → The largest Hot Wheels manufacturing plant, including single Hot Wheels. It has a current average of 9.0 M cars per week, capacity of output – yes, your Hot Wheels is not rare ;).
- Mattel Bangkot Limited → The main hub to create different types of Mattel toys, including dolls, building sets, games, and Hot Wheels.
- PT Mattel Indonesia (WEST) → Helps Mattel to produce Hot Wheels die-cast, especially 5-car packs.
- PT Mattel Indonesia (EAST) → produces Barbie dolls.
All four renewals speak volumes about Mattel’s commitment to India. Their recent caution letter to distributors also makes sense, considering that the renewal was around the corner.
