Mattel announced a new price cut due to the changes in GST slabs for toys, recently introduced via the GST Reforms 2025.
In a recent advertisement in the Times of India, the company listed the new prices, which will take effect from 22nd September 2025 onwards.

The changes come into effect to align with the new GST rate, which has been reduced to 5% from 12% on toys. This means, you can now get all the upcoming cars at a discount, including the latest P case release.
As mentioned by the GST Council, brands cannot increase the price of their products, and the GST cut must be directly reflected in the pricing.
Hot Wheels collectors will find the change welcome, as a single Hot Wheels mainline now costs 167 INR compared to the previous MRP of 179 INR.
The other Hot Wheels products will also see a reduced price, including:
- Hot Wheels Premium cars such as Bouleravard and Pop Culture Price: 510 INR
- Hot Wheels Premium F1: 743 INR
- Hot Wheels Car Culture Premium Double Pack: 1022 INR
- Hot Wheels 5-pack: 836 INR
- Hot Wheels Team Transport: 1301 INR/1299
Other Mattel products have also seen price revisions to comply with the new GST rule. These include:
- UNO cards: 279 INR, down from 299 INR
- Hot Wheels tracks: down 7% (e.g., a track that cost 2599 INR will now cost 2345 INR)
- Barbie dolls: reduced by 7%, making them more affordable at 1030 INR compared to 1099 INR
The change is welcome for most collectors. However, there were earlier rumors that the price of Hot Wheels might increase to 199 INR. With this adjustment, such a hike seems unlikely for now, though Mattel may still revert to the 179 INR price in the next quarter. Only time will tell. Until then, collectors can enjoy their diecasts and toys at lower prices.
